Richard J. Borckardt

Richard John Borckardt, age 66, of Edon, Ohio, passed away at 3:36 A.M. on Sunday, January 19, 2020, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Rick attended Ohio University, where he received his Bachelor’s degree. He was a self-employed truck driver who loved driving and traveling the country. Rick was extremely mechanical and enjoyed tinkering with most everything, including tractors and trucks. He loved the beauty and serenity of his country property, which he regularly enjoyed with his friends. Rick was born on August 18, 1953, in Berea, Ohio, the son of Robert Alfred “Bob” and Celestine Amelia “Sally” (Stark) Borckardt. Surviving are four siblings, Bob, of Flint, Michigan, Cathy (Doug) Ransdell, of Ossineke, Michigan, Patty (Greg) Payne, of Grand Blanc, Michigan, and Barb Weigert, of Mannheim, Germany. Rick was preceded in death by his parents. There will be no services for Rick at this time. A memorial service will be held on his property in the summer. Risk’s services have been entrusted to Krill Funeral Service, 204 West Indiana Street, Edon, Ohio.
