Vicki Kay Kurtz (Luke), age 75, of Edon, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, in her home surrounded by her family, following a brief illness. Vicki was born on February 23, 1945, in Edon to Richard & Mildred (Sechler) Luke. She was a 1963 graduate of Edon High School. After high school, Vicki attained her cosmetology license from Riggs Beauty School in Hillsdale, Michigan, and operated her own beauty salon for over 20 years. She eventually joined her mom as a cook in the Edon Northwest School System where she enjoyed cooking and being around the students until she retired after 25 years of service. Vicki married Thomas H. Kurtz on May 7, 1966 in Blakeslee. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Tom; two children, Jeff (Karen) Kurtz and Jodi (Aaron) Bonar; grandsons Joshua, Trevor and Logan Kurtz, Christopher, Casey and Daniel Bonar. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Luke. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Connie Luke. Vicki was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Many knew Vicki as The Cookie Lady, bringing her famous cookies and a smile to many. She loved summer time and tending to her flower gardens and watching her kids and grandkids play in the pool. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she loved decorating her home, baking lots of treats to share and listening to Christmas tunes. Anyone that met Vicki will remember her proudly sharing photos and stories of her six grandsons. She was a kind, loving, and generous woman who will be greatly missed. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, there will be no visitation or graveside services. Krill Funeral Service of Bryan has been entrusted with arrangements.
