V. Edward Kimpel, age 77, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 7:18 P.M. on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, after an extended illness. Mr. Kimpel was a 1960 graduate of Bryan High School and attended Northwest Tech Realtor Institute, becoming a real estate agent and auctioneer. Throughout the years he worked for CP Stark Construction, Bryan Automotive, and The Aro Corporation. He then worked for Fisher Automatic Vending for thirty-six years. In 1972 he began an association with Hallock Realty in Bryan, selling real estate and working auctions. Ed built Bryan Mini-Storage in 1977, which he operated until 2012. He collected classic cars, coins, guns and antiques and enjoyed hunting, woodworking and his dogs. V. Edward Kimpel was born on August 30, 1942, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Virgil P. and Mildred Mae (Antoni) Kimpel. He married his wife of fifty-six years, Sherrell Rickard, on January 26, 1964, in Waldron, Michigan, and she survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Stephen E.(Janet Murray) Kimpel, of Columbus, Ohio, and Scott E. Kimpel, of St. Pete Beach, Florida; one brother, David (Cathy) Kimpel, of Oceanside, California; sisters-in-law, Kay (Dennis) Whetro, of Pioneer and Phyllis Rickard, of Adrian, Michigan; two nieces and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, services will be private, followed by interment in Farmer Cemetery, Farmer, Ohio. Krill Funeral Service, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, has been entrusted with his service arrangements. Memorials are requested to the Williams County Humane Society.
