Thomas H. Wilhelm, age 77, of Defiance, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021, at SKLD in Defiance. He suffered from mental illness for a good part of his life and he is now at peace. Tom worked in shipping at The Aro Corporation for many years. Born on March 29, 1944, in Hillsdale, Michigan, he was the son of Herbert H. and Catherine M. (Warren) Wilhelm. He moved with his family to Ney, Ohio, in 1955 and spent the remainder of his life in Defiance County. Tom was a 1962 graduate of Fairview High School. Tom is survived by his sisters, Christine (Thomas) Clark, of Deer Park, Washington, Paula (Glen) Oglesby, of Atascadero, California, Mary (Wallace) Gardner, of San Jose, California, and Frances Wilhelm, of Toledo, Ohio, and brothers, Nicholas (Mary) Wilhelm, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Michael (Diedre) Wilhelm, of Coeur D’Alene, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside services will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Defiance on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. with Father John Stites officiating. Services have been entrusted to Krill Funeral Service, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to the National Alliance for Mental Illness-NAMI Four County T-761 State Route 66, Archbold, Ohio 43502.
