Theron L. Diehl, age 91, of Bryan, Ohio, went home to be with his Lord at 3:13 P.M. on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice. He attended Wesley United Methodist Church in Bryan. Theron was a 1946 graduate of Bryan High School where he played trombone in the band and orchestra and excelled at track. He was a US Navy veteran, serving from 1946-1948. He was the first full time employee of the L.E. Smith Company in Bryan where he was in outside sales and the warehouse manager. While living in Holland, Ohio, he was a two term councilman and served as both the police and fire commissioner. Rev. Diehl was a minister at several United Methodist churches in Oklahoma and Ohio. Theron L. Diehl was born on January 16, 1928 , in Bryan, Ohio, the son of W. E. and Ruth (Leslie) Diehl. He married Caroline P. Lee on August 19, 1948, in Norfolk, Nebraska, and they were married just shy of 70 years before her death on April 6, 2018. Theron is survived by one son, Reverend Stanley T. Diehl, of Taneytown, Maryland; one daughter, Trudy L. (Calvin) Fulton, of Thompson Station, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Heidi (Tate) VanScoyoc, Christopher (Jennifer) Diehl, Heather Biggus, Ruth Anne Fracassi, Kari (Jared) Thompson, Scott (Brianne) Fulton, and Mark (Vivian) Fulton and twenty-three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a daughter-in-law, Anita Diehl. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Brown Cemetery with his son, Pastor Stan Diehl officiating. Military rites will be provided by the Bryan American Legion Post 284. Memorials are requested to Wesley United Methodist Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
