Ruth A. Igney, age 72, of Edon, Ohio, and formerly a longtime resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away at 6:58 A.M. on Friday, April 3, 2021, after an extended illness, with her family by her side. Mrs. Igney was a graduate of Lima Senior High School and received an Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering. She was employed as a mechanical engineer for Safetran Traffic Systems in Colorado Springs for twenty-six years, retiring in 2011, and moved to Edon in 2012. She enjoyed being outside, gardening, and spending time with her furry companion, Brigette. Ruth A. Igney was born on April 20, 1948, in Lima, Ohio, the daughter of Charles and Mildred (Garrison) Binkley. She married Edward M. Igney on May 22, 1984, in Colorado Springs and he preceded her in death on October 8, 2010. Survivors include a son, Tom Nichols, of Wellington, Colorado; two daughters, Rhiannon Souder, in Oklahoma, and Christi Waggoner, of Watonga, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Binkley, of Elida, Ohio, and Tom Binkley, of Harrod, Ohio; and one sister, Barbara (Gary) Faunce, of Edon. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Karen Sue Nichols; one son, Mike Nichols; and one sister, Janet Sweigant. In keeping with Ruth’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
