There’s a little less humor in the world now. On August 27, Robert peacefully made his way to the other side as he was surrounded by his devoted wife and two daughters. He had recently been diagnosed with cancer and like all things in life, he faced it with an attitude that “it will all work out.” In his words, “I’m in a ‘win win’ situation. If treatment works, I get to spend more time with my family. If it doesn’t, I get to be in heaven.” Loving husband for 45 years to his wife Melinda (Lirot); a great dad to daughters, Michelle (Tom) Tucker and Kimberly (Joe) Hinch; and adored Papa to Addison, Owen and furpup Dexter. Born in Springfield, Ohio he was the son of the late Edgar and Eleanor (Smith) Spragg. He is survived by brothers, Dave, Jerry and sister, Ruth Englefield. He is also survived by several brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews and sons, Ty and Ryan Spragg. He was met on the other side by a sister, Nancy Beymer and brothers, Phil, Frank, Dean and Bruce. Bob was a one-of-a-kind character with quick wit and an ornery side. He thrived on making people laugh and would joke around with anyone. His personality made him perfectly suited for the job that he loved, selling cars. He retired briefly, only to return to doing what he loved, selling. He was also very determined and usually accomplished whatever he set his mind to. One of his proudest accomplishments was conquering alcoholism by remaining sober for over 34 years. His absence will be felt but may the laughter he created carry us forward until we laugh with him again. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 10:00am, with a visitation starting at 9:00am, at Life Changing Realities Fellowship, 428 W. Vine St., US 6, Edgerton, Ohio 43517 with Pastor Byron Adams officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
