Richard Wayne Lewis, age 70, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018, at his home. He graduated from Indiana University with a degree in chemistry. He worked as a research scientist including working on the formula for Beanie-Weenies. He served in the US Army from 1969-1971 including a tour in Vietnam. Richard was a member of the Bryan Master Gardener’s club, was a master chef and enjoyed gardening and music.Richard Wayne Lewis was born on July 18, 1947, in Bedford, Indiana, the son of Robert D. and A. Charlene (Walls) Lewis. Richard is survived by his daughters, Sarah Lewis, of Chicago and Rachel Lewis, of Omaha, Nebraska; his mother, Charlene Lewis, of Paoli, Indiana and sisters, Donna (Ted) Miller, of Paoli, Indiana and Shelia (Stu) Hudson, of Ft. Ritner, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lewis. A memorial service for Richard W. Lewis will be held at a later date in Indiana.Memorials in the name of Richard W. Lewis are requested to an organization of the donor’s choice.
