Reverend Dawn R. Braun, age 66, of Bryan, Ohio, went to her heavenly home, surrounded by her family, at 5:28 P.M. on Friday, October 26, 2018, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana, after an extended illness. Reverend Braun was a 1970 graduate of Fairview High School and received her degree in Biblical Studies from Vision Bible College. Her life was her ministry, which she shared with her husband, working mainly with children. In her ministry she was very creative in many ways, such as serving as a jail chaplain, teaching sign language, creating a puppet team and clowning for fifteen years with her husband, and as a mime, all of which enhanced their ministry team. Even in retirement they continued their ministry throughout the area. She was a member of Restoration Church in Defiance, Ohio, and was a collector of Coca-Cola memorabilia and enjoyed looking for bargains at flea markets, antiquing, and making jewelry.Dawn Rose Braun was born on January 6, 1952, in Dalton, Georgia, the daughter of Bernard and Gertrude (Grimm) French. She married Albert C. Braun on June 27, 1970, in Prattville, Michigan, and he survives. Surviving in addition to her husband are one daughter, Michelle (Sam) Wischmeyer, of Bryan; one son, Jason (Jessica) Braun, of Pioneer, Ohio; six grandchildren, Callie (Austin) Buchs, Joseph (Trisha) Ford, Zac Ford, Makayla Miller, Madison Braun and Keanu Miller; one brother, Gerald French, in Texas; one sister, Madonna Potter, of Montpelier; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Richard and Bill French.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, from 2:00-4:00 P.M. at Restoration Church in Defiance, Ohio. Services will follow in the church, beginning at 4:00 P.M.Memorials are requested to the family for expenses.
