Jean Heisler, age 88, of rural Edgerton, Ohio, was born on October 18, 1931, in Bryan, Ohio, and passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020, at the family farm, surrounded by her husband and children. She was the youngest of five children born to Prather Rolland Hitt and Mildred Cora (Brace) Hitt. She received an LPN degree at Lutheran School of Nursing in Fort Wayne, Indiana, worked at Montpelier Hospital for twenty-five years, and assisted her husband on the family farm. She loved being outside plowing and discing and always had a great tan in the summer. She had a very caring heart, loved all children, and always remained a child (and a little ornery) at heart. Fishing, water skiing, Cocoa Beach, Florida, frogs, cats, Gregory Peck, Andy Williams, art, music, Halloween, and Christmas were some of her favorites. On December 16, 1960, she married the love of her life, Allan F. Heisler, and he survives along with their two children, Cindy Heisler (Charles Ewers), of Montpelier, Ohio, and Allan Heisler II (Tammy Wilson), of Huntertown, Indiana; grandchildren are Tyler Heisler-Taylor (Leilani) and Cooper Heisler-Taylor of Columbus, Ohio; step-grandchildren are Audrey Arend of Akron, Ohio, Sonia (Brian) Fournier of Flint, Michigan, Melissa Ewers and Daniel (Patricia) Ewers, of Montpelier; and step-great-grandson, Damon Ewers, of Montpelier. She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings, Max Hitt, Prather Hitt, Jr., Warren Hitt and Evelyn (Hitt) Kerr. No services will be held due to her wishes and Covid-19 precautions. Private interment will take place at the family plot in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton. Memorials are requested to the American Stroke Foundation or Community Health Professionals Home Care and Hospice. She was our sweet baby chicky kitty. We were blessed.
