Mary A. Hoover, age 78, of Edgerton, Ohio, passed away at 8:31 P.M. on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Laurels of DeKalb in Butler, Indiana, with her family at her side, following an extended illness. Mrs. Hoover worked in health care for many years as a private health care aide until her retirement. Mary A. Hoover was born on February 18, 1941, in Garrett, Indiana, the daughter of Clarence E. and Mabel (Smith) Burns. She married Kenneth Hoover, Jr. on February 19, 1976, in Muncie, Indiana, and he preceded her in death on July 21, 2003. Survivors include four daughters, Katrina Miller, of Butler, Indiana, Sonya Shockley, of Angola, Indiana, Serina (Billy) Zent, of Coruna, Indiana, and Sharon (Tim) Acker, of Kendallville, Indiana; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jacqueline Bodine, in Arizona. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Richard Burns, and one sister, Beverly Carnahan. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, from 4:00-6:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton, Ohio. Services and interment in Maple Grove Cemetery will be private. Memorials are requested to the family to help with expenses.
