Mary E. Babinger, age 88, of Hicksville, Ohio, died at 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Genesis HealthCare-Bryan Center in Bryan, Ohio, surrounded by her family, after an extended illness. Mrs. Babinger was a 1947 graduate of Bryan High School and would go on to be a country western singer, performing with the Hoosier Corn Huskers Band as a lead singer and guitarist in the Findlay, Ohio, area and on WFIN radio in Findlay. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed being with her family.Mary E. Babinger was born on July 23, 1929, in Mark Center, Ohio, the daughter of Paul and Mary Gerencser. She married William E. Babinger on February 26, 1977, in Bryan and he preceded her in death on February 23, 2017.Survivors include one son, Stanton Daugherty, of Armonk, New York; one daughter, Sherri Green, of Bryan; six grandchildren, Amy (Scott) Fahrer, Randy (Rhonda) Franks, Courtney Green, Ryan (Amy) Huffman, Brock Huffman and Mark Huffman; nine great-grandchildren, Brandon, Jared and Rylan Fahrer, Breanna and Brandon Franks, Hayden and Hero Panos, and Arik and Caleb Huffman; and one sister, Helen Daugherty. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Cliffton, three brothers and one sister.Visitation will be held in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, from 1:00-3:00 P.M. Services will follow at 3:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with Reverend Mary Beth Smith-Gunn officiating. Interment will follow in Farmer Cemetery, Farmer, Ohio.Memorials are requested to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Williams County Humane Society.
