Marian Lucille Haase, age 84, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Friday, October 9, 2020. She was an avid golfer for many years. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, Chapter 618. Marian Lucille Slater was born on December 4, 1935, in Edgerton, Ohio, the daughter of Clayton and Lew Ellen (Davis) Slater. She married her husband of 66 years, Franklin F. Haase, on March 13, 1953, in Norman, Oklahoma. Franklin and Marian lived in the Edgerton area for 20 years before moving to Bryan in 1980. They enjoyed wintering in Arizona for 35 years. Franklin F. Haase passed away on October 18, 2019. He was born on June 4, 1933, in Montpelier, Ohio, the son of Ferman and Clova Haase. Franklin was a member of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1952-1956. He worked at The Aro Corporation for 40 years. He was a general foreman. He later taught at Northwest State Community College for six years. They were members of First Lutheran Church in Bryan. Franklin and Marian are survived by their daughter, Deborah (Mark) Hirsch, of Bryan; sons, Jeffery (Sandy Conley) Haase and Jesse (Ana Murillo) Haase, both of Peoria, Arizona, and Jon (Chris) Haase, of Bryan; twelve grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; Franklin’s sister, Marjorie Dossett, of Salina, Kansas; and Marian’s brothers, Wayne Slater, of Elkhart, Indiana, and Howard (Janet) Slater, of Shipshewana, Indiana. A combined memorial service for Franklin and Marian will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020, at 1:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, with Pastor Sam Byroads officiating. The family will receive friends and family from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service. They will be laid to rest together at Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton. Graveside military rites will be provided by the combined Bryan American Legion and VFW Posts. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to the Community Health Professionals Home Care & Hospice program.
