Margaret B. Sweet, age 101, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away at 5:55 P.M. on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at The Harrison in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she was a resident. Mrs. Sweet received her degree in education from Winona State Teachers College and her master's degree from Ball State University. She began her career in education in Minnesota and Wisconsin and went on to teach in the Anderson, Indiana, Community Schools for more than thirty years until her retirement in 1980. She was a recreation director with the Red Cross during World War II, stationed in Italy, and when she returned she taught typing and Morse Code to the troops at Truex Field in Madison, Wisconsin, where she met her future husband. She worked for Catholic Charities in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and the Journal Gazette newspaper before moving to Muncie to pursue her master's degree. Margaret B. Sweet was born on May 16, 1918, in Duluth, Minnesota, the daughter of Louis J. and Ida (Boughton) Brousseau. She married Darrell Sweet on August 23, 1947, in Bovey, Minnesota, and he preceded her in death on July 4, 1985. Survivors include her daughter, Deborah (Steven Vaughn) Williams, of Fremont, Indiana; a granddaughter, Amy Lynn Williams; and a great-granddaughter, Sopiah Williams, both of Indianapolis. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Louis J. Brousseau, and a sister, Muriel Jeanne Brousseau. Services will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at 1:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton, Ohio, with Pastor Jeff Brookins officiating. The family will receive visitors for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 P.M. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton. Memorials are requested to the American Red Cross.
