Maralyn M. Cape

Maralyn M. Cape, age 93, of Edgerton, Ohio, passed away at 2:52 P.M. on Monday, June 4, 2018, at Dream Haven Assisted Living in Edgerton, Ohio, after after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Mrs. Cape was a 1943 graduate of Edgerton High School. A devoted farm wife and mother, she was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Rosary Altar Society, and Edgerton Garden Club and was a longtime Brownie Scout and 4-H leader. She also enjoyed embroidery, especially making church baptismal bibs and confirmation stoles for many years.Maralyn M. Cape was born on October 29, 1924, the daughter of George L. and Bertha (Fox) Stotz. She married Frank D. Cape on December 6, 1943, in Edgerton, Ohio, and he survives.Surviving in addition to her husband are four sons, James Cape, of Bryan, Ohio, Joseph (Connie) Cape, of Edgerton, Daniel (Sheila) Cape, of Auburn, Indiana, and Douglas (Pat) Cape, of Kenefe, Oklahoma; two daughters, Linda (Denny) Nester, of Corunna, Indiana, and Bonnie Hoffman, of Defiance, Ohio; twelve grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Gregory Allen Cape, in 1949; one grandson, Randy Bowen; three brothers, Richard, George and Kenneth Stotz; and six sisters, DeAnna Stotz, Ruth Cooley, Eleanor Jesse, Jean Bowman, Kathleen Robarge, Phyllis Tonkel and Janice Oyer.Visitation will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton, with a scripture service at 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 10:30 AM. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton with Reverend Daniel Borgelt officiating.
