LeRoy F. “Roy” Held, age 86, of Edon, Ohio, passed away at 3:25 A.M. on Friday, December 10, 2021, in his home, surrounded by his family, after an extended illness. Mr. Held was a 1953 graduate of Edon High School and a lifelong farmer. He also worked in production control for ARO/Ingersoll Rand Corporation in Bryan, retiring with forty-six years of service to the company. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Blakeslee, Ohio, and frequently attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montpelier, Ohio, and was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Council #3883 in Blakeslee. Roy was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Edon Bombers, Detroit Tigers and Lions, and the Indiana Hoosiers. LeRoy F. Held was born on September 1, 1935, on the family farm near Edon, the son of Robert and Amelia (Hauser) Held. He married Marilyn Dee “Suz” Kinnison on October 9, 1954, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Blakeslee and she survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Lucinda and Allen Faulhaber of Edon, Debora and Marc Grisier, of Toledo, Ohio, and Sandra and Paul Reese, of Raleigh, North Carolina; one son, Robert and Kathryn Held, of Defiance, Ohio; eleven grandchildren, AmberLeigh Faulhaber, Adaleigh Faulhaber, Jordan and Kristen Faulhaber, Grant and Jessica Grisier, Cole Grisier, Hunter Reese, Alexandra Reese and fiancé, Robert Grabek, Tyler and Savanna Reese, Anna Grace Held, Avery Amelia Held and Jack Ryan Mortier; seven great-grandchildren, Ava Faulhaber, Asher Faulhaber, Amelia Faulhaber, baby Aurora Faulhaber due in December, Samantha and William Grisier and Jackson Reese; his siblings, Melvin Held, of Bryan, LaRue Reitzel, of Edon, Irene Brooks, of Perrysburg, Ohio, Rosemary and Leon Witter, of Defiance, Ronald and Penny Held, of Bryan; two sisters-in-law, Wanda Held, of Edon, and Barbara Kinnison, of Berrien Springs, Michigan; one brother-in-law, Marion Kinnison, of Stroh, Indiana; and numerous nephews and nieces. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Richard Held, and one sister, Erma Wuebben. Private family services will be held in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Blakeslee with interment to follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
