Lena O. Luke

Lena Opal Luke, age 101, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away peacefully at 3:04 P.M. on Sunday, September 22, 2019, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice near Defiance, Ohio. She was a member of First Church of Christ in Bryan. Lena was a packer at Spangler Candy Company for 29 years. She attended Bryan High School and worked in several area restaurants over the years. Lena was born on January 23, 1918, in Edon, Ohio, the daughter of Forrest J. and Vesta (Frazier) Wilson. She graduated from Bryan High School in 1935 and married Gerald Luke on September 4, 1937, and he preceded her in death. Lena is survived by her daughter, Carol Hughes, of Woodbridge, Virginia; grandchildren, Christopher (Christy) Bonneville, of Rutledge, Tennessee, Patrick Bonneville, of Bryan, and Caleb Hughes, of Woodbridge, Virginia; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Julianna, Luke and MacKenzie; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alice Headley, of Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters, Naomi Van Duesen and Elaine Ingle. Grave side funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at 11:00 A.M. at Brown Cemetery near Bryan, with Jim McPeak officiating. Services have been entrusted to Krill Funeral Service, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Memorials in the name of Lena O. Luke may be given to First Church of Christ.
