Lee W. Impton, age 71, of Butler, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana, after a brief illness with his family by his side. Mr. Impton was a graduate of Eastside High School in Butler and was a veteran of the United States Navy service during Vietnam. He was a a ASE Certified mechanic and had been employed at Maxton Motors in Butler for 47 ½ years. He served as a longtime member of the DeKalb County Eastern School Board and was a member of the Butler American Legion Post #202 and the Butler Eagles. Lee enjoyed riding his Cushman and was a member of the Cushman Club of American. He also enjoyed drag racing and riding his Harley Davidson. An avid antique picker, he loved going to auctions, was a collector of classic vehicles and was a member of the Vintage Motor Bike Club.Lee W. Impton was born on August 1, 1947, in Auburn, Indiana, the son of Albert and Gladys (Kline) Impton. He married his companion of thirty-six years, Denise A. “Dee” (Goebel) Baird, on December 11, 2010, and she survives.Surviving in addition his wife, are two sons, Jerrad Impton, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Eric (Jacki) Impton, of Butler; his grandchildren, Chantz, Kaine, Maggie, Shai, Deztinee, Aayden, Alex, and Allison; and one sister, Judy, Impton, of Troy, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, from 2:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton, Ohio. Services will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, with Pastor Dale Rabineau officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Edgerton with grave side military rites conducted by Butler American Legion Post #202 and the United States Navy Honor Guard.Memorials are requested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
