Larry J. Barns, age 68, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away at 10:09 A.M. on Saturday, July 18, 2020, at Evergreen Healthcare Center in Montpelier, Ohio, after a long battle with cancer. Mr. Barns was a graduate of Camden-Frontier High School and served in the United States Army. Larry was employed at Pioneer Forge and enjoyed spending time with family and playing video games and especially enjoyed having late night coffee at any 24-hour restaurant or truck stop. Larry J. Barns was born on July 25, 1951, in Hillsdale, Michigan, the son of Joseph and Charlotte (Stenger) Barns. Surviving are one son, Conrad (Kaitlyn) Barns, of Bryan; one daughter, Catherine (Michael) Herman, of Pioneer, Ohio; three grandchildren, Milan, Casey, and Amelia Herman (and granddaughter, Annie, is on the way); two siblings, Carolyn (Lowell) Traxler and Barbara (John, Jr.) Carpenter; and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Alan Perry Barns. Visitation for Larry J. Barns will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2020, from 3:00-5:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. A celebration of life will follow at 5:00 P.M. with Pastor Charles Crowder officiating. Memorials are requested to the family or Cancer Assistance of Williams County.
