Jean Hilbert, age 89, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2018, in Cape Coral. Mrs. Hilbert enjoyed a long life raising her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, cooking and baking, making memories with family and friends, dancing, and traveling. She was well known as a generous and giving person. Born Lois Jean Poole on February 17, 1929, in Edgerton, Ohio, the daughter of E. Cranston Poole and Florence (Fisher) Poole. She married Charles G. Hilbert on September 7, 1947, who preceded her in death in 2000. Mrs. Hilbert is survived by her five children, Susan Hilbert, of Evansville, Wisconsin, Christine (Greg) Headley, of Hicksville, Ohio, Jeffrey Hilbert, Stacey (Roger) Hilbert-Patricio, and Jon (Kristie) Hilbert, all of Cape Coral; sixteen grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Helen Poole, in 1926, and a granddaughter, Alexie Krill, in 2012.Throughout her life Mrs. Hilbert was passionate about many organizations and was a member of the Edgerton Historical Society, Order of the Eastern Star, Gamma Epsilon Sorority and the Humane Society. She was a lifelong member of the Edgerton United Methodist Church and the Mary Martha Circle. While residing in Florida she maintained her faith by attending Grace United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton, Ohio, and the funeral will follow at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home with Reverend Susan Kornbach officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton. Memorials are directed to the Edgerton United Methodist Church..
