Julia Rangel, age 89, of Bryan, Ohio, and formerly of Paulding, Ohio, passed away at 3:53 A.M. on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at her residence. She attended Bethel Worship in Defiance, Ohio, and the First Brethren Church in Bryan. Julia was a prayer warrior and a traveling missionary with her husband. She enjoyed sewing and cooking and baking for anyone, but especially for church benefits. Julia was born on June 19, 1932, in Rio Rico, Mexico, the daughter of Gorgonio and Maria (Hernandez) Castillo. She married Reverend Juan Rangel on March 12, 1949, in Edcouch, Texas, and he preceded her in death on February 5, 2010. Julia Rangel is survived by her children, Rebecca (Ernesto) Campos, of Bryan, Fran Pedraza, of Defiance, Eva Ferrell, of Bryan, Josue (Maria) Rangel and David Rangel, both of Archbold, Ohio, and Sara (Dennis) Morhart, of Hicksville, Ohio; eleven grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Natalia Garcia, of La Villa, Texas, Martin Castillo, of Merced, California, and Juan Castillo, of Hale Center, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant daughters, Irene and Delia Ann Rangel; her son, Ruben Rangel; and four brothers, Juan, Perfecto, Pedro and Simon Castillo. Visitation for Julia will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022, at 12:00 P.M. in the First Brethren Church in Bryan with Pastor Luke Nagy officiating, where the family will receive visitors an hour prior, beginning at 11:00 A.M.. Interment will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan. Memorials in the name of Julia Rangel may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
