Judith A. Roy, age 75, of Bryan, passed away early Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at her home following a sudden illness. Judy retired from the Montpelier School system as a 3rd grade teacher with 30 years of service. She was a very active and devout member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She served as an Extraordinary Minister , was a member of the Rosary-Alter Society, and taught Catechism. She loved spending time with her family and was her youngest son’s primary care-taker.
Judith was born on July 27, 1948 in Pontiac, Michigan, the daughter of Richard and Edna (Leonard) Storts. She married Lewis C. Roy in Montpelier on June 21, 1969 and he preceded her in death on April 13, 2023.
Judy is survived by her sons, Richard (Amy) Roy, of Lexington, Kentucky, Robert and Stephen Roy, both of Bryan; grandchildren, Brooke Roy, of Manhattan, New York, Bryce Roy, of Lexington and Mason Roy, of Bryan; step grandchildren, Nolan and Evan; sister, Jane (Scott) Goetz, of Woodville, Ohio and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and sister, Jacqueline Hartman.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 4:00-6:30 P.M. at Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 6:30 P.M. A Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Reverend Andrew Wellmann officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Grove Cemetery, West Unity.
The family requests memorial donations be directed to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
