Joseph L. Pilarski

March 15, 1934 — February 24, 2023

Joseph L. Pilarski, age 88, of Stryker, Ohio, passed away Friday, February 24, 2023 at his daughter’s home near Defiance. Joe worked at Continental General Tire for 28 years, much of those years as a foreman. He was member of First Baptist Church and also participated in Habitat for Humanity with whom he built many homes for those in need. Joseph L. Pilarski was born in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Adalbert G. and Mary (Reksa) Pilarski. He attended St. Peter & Paul Catholic School and graduated from Mackenzie High School, both in Detroit. On March 20, 1954 Joseph married Carol A. Richardson and she preceded him in death on August 24, 2020. Joe is survived by his daughters, Kay (Seth) Mansfield, of Defiance and Vicki Walker, of Edgerton; son, Brett Pilarski, of West Virginia; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother, Eugene Pilarski, of Whitmore Lake, Michigan; sister, Irene Gofort, of Fowlerville, Michigan; and sister-in-law, Diane Pilarski, of West Bloomfield, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, John Pilarski and Edward (Rose) Pilarski and son-in-law, Alan Walker. In accordance with Joe’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Krill Funeral Service, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Memorials are requested to First Baptist Church, 925 E Fountain Grove Dr, Bryan, OH 43506
