Johnny L. Guillaume, age 48, of Edgerton, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on February 15, 2018, at his home. He was born on December 12, 1969, the son of Jimmie D. and Chong O. (Pak) Guillaume in Hicksville, Ohio. After graduating from Edgerton High School in 1988, Johnny went directly into the U.S. Air Force, where he served for over six years on active duty and with the Air National Guard. He was deployed for Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm from 1989-1990 and is a Gulf War Veteran.Johnny spent most of his time after the military working with numerous equestrian farms and ranches in Vermont and Florida for over twenty-five years, where he never considered his employment a job. He loved working with horses of all kinds and also hand crafted saddles and bridles as a hobby and business. Johnny returned home to Edgerton in 2014 after battling illness. For the past three years, he spent time volunteering at different ranches involving children with learning impairments, soup kitchens/homeless shelters, and at the V.A. campus, where he visited frequently. He loved reading books, listening to music, fishing, and hanging out with his family and his many beloved dogs. Johnny had a kind heart and a quirky personality that we all loved and adored. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones and will join his dad and little brother in God’s Kingdom.Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie D., and younger brother, Rocky Y. Guillaume. He is survived by his loving mother, Chong, of Edgerton; brothers, Jimmie and Andy, both of Edgerton; and sisters, Teesha and Nannette, both of Edgerton. Johnny also has four nephews, Joey, of Lakewood, Ohio; Anthony John, of Montpelier, Ohio; Andrew and Justice, both at Eastern Michigan University; one niece, Alanis, at Kent State University; and a special family friend, Trey Holman.Private services will be held and interment with military rites conducted by the Unites States Air Force Honor Guard will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to saluteheros.org or contact your local V.A.
