James G. Thacker

James G. “Greg” Thacker, age 57, of Edgerton, Ohio, peacefully passed away at 12:50 P.M. on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 surrounded by his family. Greg took great joy in being a grandfather and adored his many grandkids and great grandkids.

James Gregory Thacker was born on April 2, 1966, in Defiance, Ohio, the son of Paris Thacker, who preceded him in death. Greg married Joyce Ellen (Kuch) on October 22, 2005 in Tawas City, Michigan and she survives.

Greg is also survived by one daughter, Shawana Thacker, of Mikado, Michigan; a son, Joshua Thacker, of Lafayette, Georgia;  two step-daughters, Brenda (Ron) Noel, of French Lick, Indiana, and Ann Lilly, of Belleville, Michigan; a step-son, Richard Lilly, of East Tawas, Michigan; his brother, Rick (Judy) Thacker, of Oakwood, Ohio; one aunt, Fanny Adkins, of Defiance; 17 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and three nieces and nephews. Greg was preceded in death by his father and his son, Jeremy Thacker and a nephew, Christopher Thacker.

A memorial service to commemorate Greg’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Krill Funeral Service at 860 West Mulberry Street Bryan, Ohio 43506.
