Irene D. Scantlen

Irene D. Scantlen, age 87, of Ney, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her family. Irene retired from The Aro Corporation with over 26 years of service. Her family was the most important thing in the world to her. Irene was born on May 26, 1934, in Bryan, Ohio, the daughter of Alan and Hazel Marie (Wagner) Kemm. She married Robert L. Scantlen on April 30, 1997, in West Unity, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on June 18, 2019. Irene is survived by her children, David Hoffman, Diane Pickering, Barb Bonar and Mary Ann Hoffman, all of Ney, and Steve Hoffman and Basil (Candy) Steffes, both of Sherwood, Ohio; twelve grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Perceda Wolf, Donelda Wolf, Larry Wolf and Herb Wolf. Honoring Irene’s wishes, private family services will be held. Krill Funeral Service, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, has been entrusted with her arrangements. Memorials are requested to the Community Health Professionals Hospice.
