George E. Herman, age 72, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 3:59 A.M. on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Community Memorial Hospital in Hicksville, Ohio, after an extended illness. Mr. Herman was a 1964 graduate of Edgerton High School and had been a farmer, previously owned and operated Herman Custom Harvesting with his wife, was a factory worker and would later become a truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, going to tractor shows, spending time with family and friends and putting together puzzles.George E. Herman was born on September 1, 1945, in Garrett, Indiana, the son of Rupert A. and Virginia E. (Yingling) Herman. He married Patricia D. Ray on July 2, 1967, and she survives.Surviving in addition to his wife are, two daughters, Angela Wank and Joan (Tim) Monfette, both of Edgerton; four granddogs, Dixie Belle Wank and Cassie, Nora and Auggie Monfette; five brothers, William R. (Pat) Herman, of Edgerton, Richard E. Herman, of Walkersville, Maryland, David R. (Patty) Herman, of West Chester, Ohio, Michael A. Herman, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Daniel J. (Shari) Herman, of South Bend, Indiana; and two sisters, Margaret Ann (Robert, Jr.) Warnock, of Edwardsburg, Michigan, and Christina M. (Dennis) Jones, of Hamilton, Indiana; a special family friend, Teri Mitchell, of Cecil, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Ruth E. Burkholder; a son-in-law, Charles Wank; two nieces; and one granddog, Baby Doll Monfette.Visitation will be held in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton, on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, from 5:00-8:00 P.M. and on Thursday, March 22, 2018, from 10:00 A.M. to12:00 P.M. Services will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2018, at 12:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, with Pastor Eric Burkhardt officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton.Memorials are requested to Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary or Williams County Humane Society.In keeping with George’s wishes, casual attire is encouraged for visitation and service.
