Erlene K. Stahler, age 79, of Montpelier, Ohio, passed away at 12:50 P.M. on Friday, May 29, 2020, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice near Defiance, Ohio, after a brief illness. Mrs. Stahler was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed working in her garden, music, and playing the piano. She also loved going to flea markets and garage sales and having cookouts with family in Florida. Erlene K. Stahler was born on February 3, 1941, in Williams County, near Pioneer, Ohio, the daughter of Walden and Phyllis (Dirthick) Williams. She married her husband of sixty-three years, Gale L. Stahler, on May 31, 1957, in Montpelier and he survives. Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons, Terry and Denny Stahler, both of Montpelier, and Chris (Susan) Stahler, of Brandon, Florida; one daughter, Jillene (Terry) Butler, of Dover, Florida; five grandchildren, Austin (Brooke) Stahler, Raini Stahler, Alice Stahler, Joey Holler, and Nathaniel “Boog” Holler; six great-grandchildren, Vincent and Leo Berrios, Leah and Lily Holler, Auvree Holler, and Lane Stahler; and her sister, Linda Scott, of Coldwater, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Jona Wright; a sister, Joan Peckinpaugh; and a brother, DeWayne Williams. In keeping with Erlene’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Memorials are requested to the Parkinson’s Foundation of Northwest Ohio.
