Elsie M. Singleton, age 84, of Mark Center, Ohio, passed away at 2:30 P.M. on Monday, November 21, 2022, at Park View Nursing Center in Edgerton, surrounded by her family, after a brief illness. Mrs. Singleton was a devoted homemaker and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church near Sherwood, Ohio. Elsie enjoyed cooking, playing cards and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Elsie M. Singleton was born on January 25, 1938, in Ashkum, Illinois, the daughter of William and Gladys (Zachgo) Stecher. She married her husband of nearly sixty-one years, Max L. Singleton, on June 6, 1959, at St. John’s Lutheran Church near Sherwood and he preceded her in death on January 31, 2020. Survivors include one daughter, Tonge (Nathan) Kimpel, of Edgerton, Ohio; four grandchildren, Tiffany (Martin) Booher, of Orland, Indiana, Brigette (Sean) Turay, of Crown Point, Indiana, J.J. (Tasha) Vance, of Tecumseh, Michigan, and Tyler (Amber) Kimpel, of Wolcottville, Indiana; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Roy (Thelma) Stecher, of Bryan, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service celebrating Elsie’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. in St. John’s Lutheran Church near Sherwood, with Reverend Eric Moquin officiating. Interment will take place in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive visitors for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 A.M., in the church.
