Daniel James Keller

Daniel James Keller, age 54, of Edon, Ohio, passed away at 8:30 P.M. on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, in Cleveland Clinic, where he was a patient, after a chronic illness. Mr. Keller was a 1982 graduate of Edon High School and served in the United States Air Force from 1983-1990. He had formerly worked at Trim Trends and was a longtime employee of Lutterbein Lumber Company in Edgerton, Ohio, where he worked in delivery and outside sales. He was an active member of the Edon community, serving on the Board of Public Affairs, and was a former member of the Edon American Legion Post #474. He was also a passionate and devoted firefighter serving with the Florence Township Fire Department for twenty-eight years and was secretary-treasurer of the Florence Township Firefighters’ Association for many years. He was also a member of the Northwest Ohio Volunteer Firemen’s Association. Dan enjoyed woodworking and tinkering on golf carts and was an avid fan of NASCAR and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Most importantly he was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather.Daniel James Keller was born on May 14, 1964, at Bunker Hill Air Force Base in Peru, Indiana, the son of Daniel Jay and Dorajean (Witt) Keller. He married Sandra (Suntken) Reed on July 29, 1995, in Montpelier, Ohio, and she survives.Surviving in addition to his wife are their children, Michelle Keller, of Defiance, Ohio, Samantha (Scott Brink) Keller, of Montpelier, Ohio, Marc Thomas, of Bryan, Ohio, Amy Kelley, of Edon, and Nicholas (Ashley) Reed, of Blakeslee; his mother, Dorajean Keller, of Edon; their grandchildren, Ryan, Matthew, Nathan, Christopher and Steven Brink, Hayden Keller, Rylan Thomas, Brandin McClain, Parker Kelley, and Cameron, Chase and Grant Reed; two brothers, Dayton (Teresa) Keller, of Bryan, Douglas (Michelle) Keller, of Brooklyn Heights, Ohio; and a sister, Diane (Scott) Truman, of Amhurst, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Jay Keller, in 2014.Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 22, 2018, from 2:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 204 West Indiana Street, Edon. Services will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, with Pastor Cliff Graves officiating. Interment will follow in Edon Cemetery with grave side military rites conducted by Edon American Legion Post # 474 and the Unites States Air Force Honor Guard.Memorials are requested to the Florence Township Firefighters’ Association.
