Cleon David Krill, age 94, of Edgerton, Ohio, entered into Christ’s eternal home at 11:40 P.M. on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. Mr. Krill was a 1945 graduate of Edgerton High School and served honorably in the United Sates Navy during World War II. He graduated from The Ohio State University College of Agriculture. Following graduation he returned to operate his family dairy farm, where he enjoyed working his entire life. Cleon was a devoted member of Emanuel United Methodist Church, where he held many roles. In his community he served on the Farmer’s Mutual Insurance Board, Farm Bureau Co-op Board, and Milford Township Zoning Board and was a member of Edgerton Lodge #357 F & AM and Past Patron of Evening Star Chapter #14, Order of the Easter Star in Edgerton. Cleon David Krill was born on July 12, 1927, near Edgerton, the son of the late Lawrence Weber and Frieda (Koerner) Krill. He married his wife of sixty-two years, Dema Alma Smith, on October 26, 1952, at the United Methodist Church in Groveport, Ohio. They created a loving and wonderful home for their five children. Dema preceded him in death on November 7, 2014. Surviving are his children, Beverly (John) Emch, of Archbold, Ohio, Bonny (Preston) Justice, of Gainesville, Georgia, Joseph (Rosemary) Krill, of Edgerton, and Jane (Dean) Thompson, of Bethesda, Maryland; fifteen grandchildren, Kate (Raul) Presas, Andrew (Laura) Emch, Jeremy (Hannah) Kohler, Hannah (Chad)Kohler Epley, Seth (Elisa) Kohler, Kaleb (Kristen) Kohler, Rebecca (Steve) West, Kelly (Geoff) Krill Bratsberg, Samuel (Korianne) Krill, Franklin (Jenni) Krill, Elizabeth (Marc) Doran, Marshall (Hannah) Thompson Bierson, Kendall Thompson and Grace Dema Thompson; and nineteen great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Rebecca Krill Kohler, in 1986; a grandson, Joseph Emch, in 2001; and his brother, Melvin Krill, in July, 2020. A celebration of Cleon’s life will be held in the Emanuel United Methodist Church near Edgerton from 9:00-11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 20, 2021. Services will follow at 11:00 A.M in the church with Karen Hahn officiating. Interment will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the family will receive friends while observing social distancing precautions. The family encourages the use of masks.
