Cheryl K. Black age 66, of Defiance, Ohio, passed away at 4:19 P.M. on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Defiance Healthcare & Rehab, after an extended illness. Cheryl was a graduate of Defiance High School and spent her life as a dedicated mother and homemaker. She was a woman of faith and had attended Experience Church in Defiance. Cheryl was a friend to all and a stranger to none. Cheryl Kay Black was born on December 7, 1955, in Defiance, Ohio, the daughter of Robert Nixon and Ethel (Trubey) Schroeder, and they precede her in death. Cheryl is survived by her three children, Mandy Brickles, Brandon Stiltner, and Michael J. Black, all of Defiance; seven grandchildren, Santos and Antonio Alvarado, Julius and Jamal Caesar, Bricetin and Michael Stiltner, and Gavyn Black; three great-grandchildren; two siblings, Greg Nixon, of Defiance, and Jerry Nixon, of Toledo, Ohio. She was preceded by her two children, Ryan Stiltner, and Mindy Brickles. A memorial service celebrating Cheryl’s life will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at the Bethel Worship Center, 817 Sauers Street, Defiance, Ohio, with Pastor Rosie Perez officiating. Memorial contributions are requested to the Path Center in Defiance, Ohio. Krill Funeral Service, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, has been entrusted with arrangements.
