Carolyn J. Arnold, age 89, of Edon, Ohio, passed away at 6:55 A.M. on Saturday, August 14, 2021, in her home after an extended illness. Mrs. Arnold was a 1950 graduate of Edon High School. A devoted homemaker, she also operated Cakes by Carolyn for all occasions for many years. She was an active member of Edon United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and United Methodist Nomads and was known as the kitchen master for all church events. Throughout the years, Carolyn and her husband, Lewis, hosted numerous foreign exchange students and had remained in contact with many of them. Carolyn J. Arnold was born on August 4, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Clyde M. and Zelma (Waltz) Payne. She married Lewis F. Arnold on October 1, 1960, in Edgerton, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on December 16, 2016. Survivors include two sons, Eric (Angel) Arnold and Andrew Arnold, both of Edon; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Peggy Miller, of Montpelier, Ohio. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Joyce Krill, Jessie Day, and Patricia Lord. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at 1:00 P.M. in Edon Cemetery with Pastor Doug Widdowson officiating. Interment will follow in Edon Cemetery. Memorials are requested to Edon United Methodist Church.
