Carl J. “Butch” Rawlins, age 77, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away early on Monday morning, July 8, 2019, in his home after an extended illness. Mr. Rawlins was employed as a machinist by The Aro Corporation in Bryan, retiring with forty years of service. He was a member of Bryan Eagles Aerie #2233 and was an avid fisherman who enjoyed fishing for walleye on the Maumee River and fishing Lake Erie. He also enjoyed woodworking and working on cars and trucks. Most of all he enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren. Carl J. “Butch” Rawlins was born near Detroit, Michigan, on January 28, 1942, the son of Carl M. and Helen R. (Istrate) Rawlins. He married Linda K. Green on February 3, 1963, at South Amboy Church in Hillsdale County, Michigan, and she survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Jeffrey (Jody) Rawlins, of Bryan, and Clay Rawlins, of Mark Center, Ohio; one daughter, Catherine (Tracy) Thompson, of Bryan; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Rose Marie (Paul) Schneider, of Hillsdale, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Robert, Thomas, David and Donald Rawlins. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2019, from 1:00-3:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will follow at 3:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan. Memorials are requested to the American Cancer Society.
