Alice N. Hancock, age 78, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away at 6:45 A.M. on Friday, April 3, 2020, surrounded by her family, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio, where she was a patient after an extended illness. Alice was a 1959 graduate of Montpelier High School. She loved children and for many years provided in-home daycare and later was a nanny. She was faithful to her Christian faith and enjoyed her church life with Grace Community Church in Bryan. She enjoyed reading, collectibles, southern gospel music and taking Christian cruises. Most of all she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Alice was born on August 27, 1941, in Montpelier, Ohio, the daughter of Clarence A. and Clarice I. (Mercer) Malone. She married G. Keith Hancock on May 1, 1960, in Montpelier, and he survives. Surviving in addition to her husband are her children, Barbara Hancock, of Bryan, Lynn (Christa Bostater) Hancock, of Columbus, Ohio, and Teri (Bill) Beasley, of Midland, Michigan; six grandchildren, Michelle, Karen, Ronald, Lorelei, Hannah and Olivia; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Beck, of Archbold, Ohio, Carolyn ( Dr. Lyle) Starr, of East Burke, Vermont, and Audrey Fast, of Bryan; her mother-in-law, Arnetta Hancock, of Bryan; her sister-in-law, Deanna Ankney, of Sherwood, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Malone; one sister and her husband, Donna and Roger Smith; two brothers in-law, Larry Beck and Dan Fast; and her father-in-law, Burnell “Bud” Hancock. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2020, from 9:30-11:00 A.M. at Grace Community Church, Bryan, Ohio. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 A.M. on with Pastors Nate Petrosky and Mike Kelly officiating. Private interment took place at Shiffler Cemetery. Memorials in the name of Alice N. Hancock are requested to Grace Community Church, Williams County Humane Society, Grand Bahamas Humane Society, or Crisp Point Light Historical Society.
