Jessee J. Yates

Jessee James Yates, age 64, of Ney, Ohio, died at 1:25 p.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at the University of Michigan Medical Center after a five month battle with leukemia. Jessee was the former owner of the Ney Bar, Ney, Ohio and the Yates Café in Sherwood, Ohio. He was an employee of Trim Trends in Bryan, Ohio the past 41 years. He attended the Ney Church of God and was a member of the Bryan Eagles Aerie #2233 and the Defiance Moose Lodge #2094. He was also a member of PACE Union 5108. Jessee James Yates was born on February 2, 1940, the son of George Dewey and Ida (Stiltner) Yates. He married Rosemary D. Elston on April 10, 1982 in Bryan, Ohio and she survives. In addition to his wife, Rosemary, Jessee is survived by one daughter, Sherry (Richard) Trubey of Bryan, Ohio, one son, Jessie “Robert” Yates of Ney, Ohio, two grandchildren, Christopher and MaKenzie Trubey, three sisters, Margie Breeding of Ocala, FL., Berchie Blankenship and June Hamilton, both of Clyde, Ohio, six brothers, Lonzo Yates of Bryan, Ohio, John Henry Yates of Napoleon, Ohio, Roosevelt Yates of Clyde, Ohio, Jerry Yates of Troy, Michigan, Elzie Yates of Las Vegas, NV., and Vada Yates of Grundy, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Lottie Vandyke, and three brothers, Ernest, Burlin and Hufford Yates. Funeral Services for Jessee James Yates will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 21, 2004 in the Ney Church of God 3413 State Route 15, Ney, Ohio, with Pastor Doug Nolt, officiating. Interment will follow in Ney Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Yates will be held in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, on Friday, August 20, 2004 from 3-9 p.m., and also one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
