Thomas G. Barta

Thomas G. Barta, age 69, of Pioneer, Ohio, died on Thursday, December 27, 2007, in his home. He was a truck driver for twenty-five years, working as a car hauler for the Detroit-based auto makers. At the time of his retirement, he was employed by Allied Systems. He was also a member of Teamsters Local #299 in Detroit. Thomas G. Barta was born on April 21, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Albert and Mary Margaret (Martin) Barta. He married Janet Sue McCloud on February 12, 1972, in Toledo, Ohio, and she survives. In addition to his wife, Mr. Barta is survived by one daughter, Andrea (Mark) Hoorman, of Columbus Grove, Ohio, five granddaughters, Ashley and Courtney Barta, of Defiance, Ohio, and Hayley, Maggie and Payton Hoorman, of Columbus Grove, Ohio, and one brother, Richard (Joyce) Barta, of Toledo, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Gilbert Barta, and one sister, Peggy Kocinski. Services and interment for Thomas G. Barta will be private. Memorials in the name of Thomas G. Barta may be given to Visiting Nurses and Hospice of Williams and Fulton Counties.
