Ned E. Mack, age 81, of Ney, Ohio, died at 8:40 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2007, at Florida Hospital Heartland in Sebring, Florida. Mr. Mack was a lifelong farmer, retiring in 2000 and had also been a longtime employee of The Aro Corporation in Bryan, Ohio. He served in the United States Army during World War II, serving with the Red Arrow Division in the Pacific Theater and was a recipient of the Bronze Star. He was a member of the Ney American Legion Post #680, the VFW, and the Farmers Union. He was an avid golfer and belonged to River Greens Golf Club in Avon Park, Florida, and was formerly active on the Farmers and Friends Golf League at Suburban Golf Course in Bryan, Ohio. Ned E. Mack was born on May 27, 1926, in Ney, Ohio, the son of William and Selma (Jesse) Mack. He married Aurel R. Osmun on September 22, 1950, in Ney, Ohio, and she survives. In addition to his wife, Mr. Mack is survived by five daughters, Ruth Ann (Dick) Schroeder, of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee, Joette (Pat) Kelly, of Bryan, Ohio, Bobbie (Emilio) Mora, of Defiance, Ohio, Susan (Richard) Hoshock, of Ayersville, Ohio, and Rosie (Dan) Shewmake, of Kenosha, Wisconsin. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Nancy Sanders. Services for Ned E. Mack will be on Thursday, January 3, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the Krill Funeral Home at 860 West Mulberry Street in Bryan, Ohio, with Pastor Douglas Nolt officiating. Interment will follow in the Ney Cemetery with grave side military rites conducted by the Ney American Legion Post #680. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, Ohio, from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2. Memorials in the name of Ned E. Mack may be given to the Fairview Athletic Boosters.
