View Video Tribute Florence M. Poulson, 81 years, of rural Edgerton, died on Friday, April 20, 2007, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan, where she had been a patient the past five days. A 1943 graduate of Farmer High School, Florence attended Bowling Green State University and transferred to The Ohio State University, where she graduated in 1947 with her Bachelor’s degree. Florence began working as a dietician at the Fort Hayes Hotel in Columbus. After raising her family, Florence then taught Home Economics at Edgerton Local Schools. She then went to Four County Joint Vocational School, where she taught Food Service Education. She was the Site Manager for the GALA in Hicksville for 16 ½ years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of the Farmer United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Heart and Hands group, she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and directed the Vacation Bible School. She was also the Sunday School Superintendent. She was also a member of the Farmer Grange, The County Cousins and the Farmer American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Florence M. Poulson was born on December 1, 1925, in Mercer County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Walter E. and Essie M. (Struble) Connelly. She married David F. Poulson on December 26, 1947, in Farmer, and he survives. In addition to her husband, Florence is survived by six children, Peggy (Tom) Lucas, of Bryan, Barbara (Duane) Landefeld, of Woodsfield, Ohio, Paul (Debbie) Poulson, of Iron Mountain, Michigan, Mark (Carol) Poulson, of Ney, John (Lexie) Poulson, of Archbold and Tom (Sara) Poulson, of Tiffin; ten grandchildren, Trisha Nungester, Tom Lucas, Andrea and Nick Poulson, Jessie and Shane Poulson, Lindsay and Lesley Landefeld, Gina and Isabelle Poulson; one great-grandson, Austin Lucas; two sisters, Mabel Stamler, of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Mildred Chatterton, of Edgerton; and one sister-in-law, Gloria Connelly, of Edgerton. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Gene and David Connelly. Funeral services for Florence M. Poulson will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, with Pastor Rick Barnett officiating. Interment will follow in Farmer Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Poulson will be held on Monday, April 23, 2007, from 5-9 p.m. and also one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials in the name of Florence M. Poulson may be given to the Farmer United Methodist Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
