Dorothy S. Fiig, age 80, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 4:50 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the Laurels of DeKalb in Butler, Indiana where she was a resident. Mrs. Fiig was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton and the rosary altar society. She was employed by the Ohio Art Company in Bryan, Ohio, working on the Etch-a-Sketch line, retiring with forty years of service. Dorothy S. Fiig was born September 22, 1927 in Blakeslee, Ohio, the daughter of George and Rosella (Siebenaler) Thiel. She married Kenneth C. Fiig on June 7, 1947, in Blakeslee, Ohio and he survives. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Fiig is survived by one son, Kenneth M. Fiig, Jr., of Edgerton, Ohio, one grandchild, David (Carrie) Fiig, of Butler, Indiana, one step-grandson, Nathan (Summer) Kaiser, of Butler, Indiana, twelve great-grandchildren, one granddaughter-in-law, Candy Fiig, of Butler, Indiana and her longtime caregiver, Alisia Fiig-Kaiser, of Butler, Indiana. She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Michael Fiig, on March 17, 2008, Shane Kaiser, July 3, 1986, two brothers, Michael and Cleo Thiel, and two sisters, Leona Clark and Lucille Blosser. Grave side services for Dorothy S. Fiig, will be Monday, March 24, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Edgerton, Ohio with Father Stephen Schroeder officiating. Visitation will be private. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Edgerton, Ohio. Memorials in the name of Dorothy S. Fiig may be given to the St. Mary Catholic Church, elevator fund in Edgerton, Ohio.
