Alva A. Myers, age 84, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 11:25 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, 2007, after an extended illness. Mr. Myers was a farmer and carpenter and was employed by Burkholder Construction for twenty years prior to his retirement. He was a former member of Bryan Moose Lodge #1064. Alva A. Myers was born on January 3, 1923, near Fayette, Ohio, the son of George E. and Clara (Saunders) Myers. He married Flora E. Fiser on January 3, 1946, and she preceded him in death in 1972. He then married Esther Lautzenheiser-Roan on February 10, 1974, in Bryan, Ohio, and she survives. In addition to his wife, Mr. Myers is survived by two daughters, Janet (Ronald) Lee, of Oscodo, Michigan, and Suzanne (Bill) Snyder, of Alpena, Michigan, one son, Allan (Janice) Myers, of Bryan, Ohio, three stepchildren, Bonnie (Mike) Sentle, of Montpelier, Ohio, Wesley (Carol) Roan, of Columbia, South Carolina, and Lyle (Joyce) Roan, of Bryan, Ohio. He is also survived by five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, two stepgreat-grandchildren, and one brother, Verlin Myers, of Napoleon, Ohio. In addition to his first wife, Flora, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Jesse, Dale, Harold and Donald Myers, and one daughter, Gloria Jean Myers. Services for Alva A. Myers will be on Thursday, December 6, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, with Pastor Dwight Bowers and Pastor Dee Custar officiating. Interment will follow in Lauber Hill Cemetery near Archbold, Ohio. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5. Memorials in the name of Alva A. Myers may be given to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Hospice Care.
