Patricia J. Markey, age 52, died Friday, May 6, 2005 at Parkview Memorial Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana from injuries sustained in an auto accident on Thursday, May 5. Patricia was a lifelong resident of the Fort Wayne area. She was a graduate of Northside High School and received her Bachelor and Master degrees in 1975 from Indiana University in the fields of Physical Education and Administration. She was a teacher and coach for many years and loved volleyball and gymnastics. Nature and her animals held a special place in her heart. Her life now continues on through the organ and tissue donation program of Indiana. Partricia Jean Markey was born December 30, 1952 in Fort Wayne the daughter of Marshall and Barbara (Purdy) Markey. She is survived by her mother, Barbara Markey, of Marion, Indiana, one sister, Susan (John) Markey-Rickner, of Marion, Indiana, three brothers, Alan Markey, of Fort Wayne, Paul (Shelly) Markey, of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Will Markey, of Two Rivers, Alaska. She is also survived by one niece, Alex Markey, of Lincoln, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her father, Marshall Markey and one brother, Charles Markey. Graveside service for Patricia Jean Markey were held Wednesday, May, 11, 2005 in the Edon Cemetery, Edon, Ohio with Reverend John Rickner. Memorials in the name of Patricia J. Markey may be given to the organ and tissue donation program of Indiana. Service arrangements are with Krill Funeral Service, Edon, Ohio.
