Earl E. Davis, age 82, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 7:26 p.m. on Sunday, January 6, 2008, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan, Ohio, where he was a patient. Mr. Davis was a veteran of the United States Army, serving with the 151st Infantry in the Pacific Theater during World War II, where he was awarded four Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart. Mr. Davis was employed in the Control Center of The Aro Corporation and retired in 1983 after 35 years of service. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bryan VFW #2489 and DAV. Earl E. Davis was born on August 1, 1925, in Superior Township, Ohio, the son of Charles and Jesse (Cunningham) Davis. On January 11, 1947, he married Joan M. Wischmeyer in Bryan, Ohio, and she survives. In addition to his wife, Mr. Davis is survived by one son, Michael (Patricia) Davis, of Bryan, Ohio, five daughters, Deborah (Gene) Pahl, of Edgerton, Ohio, Barbara Taylor, of Toledo, Ohio, Catherine Davis, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Patricia Davis, of Litchfield, Maine, and Ann (Dean) Spangler, of Bryan, Ohio. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Christopher, in March 2000, two brothers, Eldred and Robert Davis, and three sisters, Mildred Smith, Marybell Davis and Maxine Hitt. Services for Earl E. Davis will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bryan, with Fr. Charles Ritter officiating. Interment will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan, Ohio. Grave side military rites will be conducted by Bryan VFW Post #2489. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, from 3-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2008, with a Scripture Service at 8:30 p.m. Memorials in the name of Earl E. Davis may be given to the Williams County Veterans Building Fund or St. Patrick Catholic Church.
