Michael D. Phillips, age 58, of Edon, Ohio, died on Sunday, April 27, 2008, in Bryan, Ohio. Mr. Phillips was employed as a security guard with Pinkerton Security for the last ten years. He previously worked in Alaska for the Alaskan Pipeline and served in the National Guard. Michael D. Phillips was born on October 12, 1949, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of Charles H. and Anita I. (Tarter) Phillips. Mr. Phillips is survived by three children, Michele (Joe) Thiel, of Edon, Ohio, Melissa (Kyle) Martin, of Holland, Ohio, and Mendy (Jim) Garron, of Gloucester, Massachsetts, and six grandsons. He is also survived by his mother, Anita I. Phillips, of Bryan, Ohio, his father, Charles H. Phillips, of Edon, Ohio, two brothers, Charles H. Phillips, Jr., and James A. Phillips, both of Maui, Hawaii, three sisters, Mary A. (William) Prince, of Edon, Ohio, Vicki S. Rendle, of Bryan, Ohio, and Cynthia M. (Doug) Kurial, of Tampa, Florida. Services for Michael D. Phillips will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, 204 West Indiana Street, Edon, Ohio, with Winston Burton officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2008. Memorials in the name of Michael D. Phillips may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
