View Video Tribute Roger L. Cook, age 74, of rural Hicksville, Ohio, died on Friday, March 28, 2008, at his residence following an extended illness. A 1951 graduate of Farmer High School, Mr. Cook was a lifelong self-employed farmer and also worked part-time at Farmer Center Equipment. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Sherwood, Ohio, where he was treasurer for thirty years and a member of the choir. A veteran of the Army, serving during the Korean Conflict, he was a member of the Farmer American Legion Post #137. He served on the Farm Bureau Board for twelve years and many years on the ASCS Community Committee. For 25 years, he was a volunteer fireman and was on the rescue squad for fifteen years. Roger L. Cook was born on March 29, 1933, in Farmer Township, Ohio, the son of Harree and Mona (Buda) Cook. He married Maxine Meyer on February 14, 1954, in Sherwood, Ohio, and she survives. In addition to his wife, Mr. Cook is survived by one daughter, Lynette (Dan) Buehler, of Wooster, Ohio, two sons, Craig (Colby) Cook, of Grabill, Indiana, and Mike (Tracy) Cook of Defiance, Ohio, and seven grandchildren, Julie Buehler, Melissa Buehler, Kelsey Buehler, Colin Cook, Claire Cook, Amanda Cook and Travis Cook. He is also survived by one brother, Norman (Norma) Cook, of Bryan, Ohio. He was preceded in death by one sister, Gertrude Rohrs. Services for Roger L. Cook will be on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in St. John Lutheran Church, Sherwood, Ohio, with Reverend Bob Eble officiating. Interment will follow in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, with grave side military rites conducted by Farmer American Legion Post #137. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Monday, March 31. Memorials in the name of Roger L. Cook are requested to St. John’s Lutheran Church Building Fund.
