Florence Emma Mitchell, age 101, of rural Bryan, Ohio, died at 5:05 p.m, Monday, June 4, 2007, at Hillside Country Living where she was a resident. Florence Emma Mitchell was born October 13, 1905 in Bement, Illinois, the daughter of John E. and Charity (Armsworth) Mitchell, She moved to Farmer, Ohio at age six and graduated from Farmer High School in 1923, She then graduated from International Business College in 1925. She was employed by the Uhlmann’s Store in Defiance for ten years and then moved to Toledo, Ohio where she was employed by Toledo Scale Company for the twenty-three years prior to her retirement in 1970. While in Toledo, she was also employed by Lasalles Department Store and Morley Dress Shop in Sylvania. She was a member of the Toledo Scale Retirees club of which she was treasurer for many years and Telesco Sorority. She is survived by one niece, Mary L. (DeLoy) Appel, of Ney, Ohio Private grave side services will be held in Farmer Cemetery with Pastor Chris Sigmon officiating. There will be no public visitation. Memorials in the name of Florence Emma Mitchell may be given to the Hillside Country Living Activity Fund.
