View Video Tribute Muriel F. Motter, age 83, of Beerbower Road, Ney, Ohio, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2008. The daughter of Carl and Frieda (Witte) Junge, Muriel was born September 3, 1924, in Richmond Hill (Queens), New York. She received her education in New York City, attending Berkeley College and was employed by North Atlantic and Gulf Steamship Company in Manhattan. It is there, during World War II, she met her husband, Roger who survives. They were married February 28, 1948 at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Richmond Hill, New York and for the next sixty years, resided at their farm, on Beerbower Road near Ney, Ohio. Muriel devoted herself to her family, participating in their activities and working as a bookkeeper for the Central Local School District. In retirement she enjoyed traveling with her husband throughout the United States and Europe, visiting friends and family. She was also active in book clubs and volunteer work. In addition to her husband, Roger, she is survived by son, Brad (Susan Mitchell), of Syracuse, New York and granddaughter, Katharine, of Boston, Massachusetts; son, Russell, of Toledo, Ohio; daughter, Karen (Thomas) Hazelett, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and a sister, Frieda (Warren) Kaffka, of Jacksonville, Vermont. Services for Muriel F. Motter will be on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio with Pastor Dee Custar officiating. Interment will follow in the Ney Cemetery. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6. The family would like to thank their home caregivers, the staffs of Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers Home Health and Hospice and Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home, Archbold, for their help and support.
