Freeda A. Russell, 62 years, of Bryan, Ohio, and a former lifelong resident of Ney, Ohio, died at 8:20 a.m. Thursday, December 2, 2004 at Community Health and Wellness Centers-Bryan, Ohio after a brief battle with cancer. Mrs. Russell was a lifelong homemaker. She was a member of the True Word Tabernacle in Bluffton, Ohio. Freeda A. Russell was born on September 22, 1942, in Clentwood, Virginia, the daughter of Taze and Mary (Baker) Rachel. She married Roy E. Russell on July 11, 1964 in Mansfield, Ohio and he survives. In addition to her husband Roy, Mrs. Russell is survived by two daughters, Tammy L. Rios, of Bryan, Ohio and Mary I. Horner, also of Bryan; four sons, Ralph R. (Tammy) Boterf of Wiley, Ga., Eddie R. (Brenda) Boterf, of Sherwood, Ohio, John R. (Carolyn) Russell of Montpelier, Ohio and Gary E. (Trisha) Russell of Montpelier, Ohio, her mother, Mary Rachel of Sherwood, Ohio, fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandson; two sisters, Shirley Sproles of Sherwood, Ohio and Ruth (Carl) Lyons of Mansfield, Ohio; one brother, Roy (Patsy) Rachel of Smithville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her father, Taze Rachel, one daughter, Debbie Sue Russell and one brother, Alfred Rachel. Funeral services for Freeda A. Russell will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 2004 in the Krill Funeral Home 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio with Pastor Ray Erickson, officiating. Interment will follow in Ney Cemetery, Ney, Ohio. Visitation for Mrs. Russell will be held Friday, December 3, 2004, from 5-9 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorials in the name of Freeda A.
