View Video Tribute Nancy Jean Ellis, age 65, of Edon, died at 11:40 p.m. on Sunday, April 20, 2008, in her home after an illness of five months. Mrs. Ellis was a homemaker and daycare provider in her home. She was a member of the House of Prayer and baked cakes for many years for all occasions. Nancy Jean Ellis was born on July 10, 1942, in Bryan, Ohio, the daughter of Max W. and Delorise Ilene (Franks) Phillips. She married James A. Ellis on January 21, 1989, in Bryan, Ohio, and he survives. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Ellis is survived by her children, Debbie S. (Dennis) Jones, of Defiance, Ohio, Connie M. (Buddy) Bigger, of Edgerton, Ohio, Ronnie E. (Crysthia) Green, Jr., of Edon, Ohio, Ben R. (Rachel) Ellis, of Toledo, Ohio, and David J. (Bekki) Ellis, of Bryan, Ohio, eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Randy L. (Sue) Phillips, of Cromwell, Indiana, Walter “Scott” (Bev) Phillips, of Defiance, Ohio, and Tony M. (and fiancee, Monica) Phillips, of Gregory, Michigan, two sisters, Patsy J. (Mike) Rex, of Evansport, Ohio, and Ruby Worchuck, of Malinta, Ohio, her stepmother, Ruth Phillips, of Bryan, Ohio, and several stepbrothers and stepsisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Stephen and Leo Phillips, and one nephew, Chris Kuckuck. Services for Nancy Jean Ellis will be on Thursday, April 24, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio, with Pastor Don Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Edon Cemetery in Edon, Ohio. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23. Memorials in the name of Nancy Jean Ellis may be given to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Hospice Care or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
