Alvin J. Zielke, age 83, of Edon, Ohio, died Saturday, December 11, 2004, in his home. Mr. Zielke was a purchasing agent for The Aro Corporation, retiring in 1983. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served in both World War II and Korea. He was a member of the Bryan First Church of Christ and the Edon American Legion Post #662. Alvin J. Zielke was born December 11, 1921, in Latty, Ohio, the son of Paul and Bertha (Mabis) Zielke. He married Ruth Brown in August of 1944 and she preceded him death in 1984. He then married Nancie (Bater) Crist on December 27, 1985, in Bryan, Ohio, and she survives. In addition to his wife, Mr. Zielke is survived by one daughter, Sandy Poulter, of St. Louis, Missouri, four step-children, Norine (Larry) Garman, of Hamilton, Indiana, Natalie (Brian) Kaiser, of Fremont, Indiana, Nicole Riter, of Bryan, Ohio, Norman Crist, of Dallas, Texas, three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Wayne, of Antwerp, Ohio, Raymond (Loretta), of Paulding, Ohio, two sisters, Marietta (Fred) Harper, of Paulding, Ohio, and Clara Dye, of Findlay, Ohio. In addition to his first wife, Ruth, he was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Zielke. A memorial service for Alvin J. Zielke will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2004, at 1:00 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio, with Pastor Cliff Graves officiating. Private interment will be held in Brown Cemetery near Bryan, Ohio. Memorials in the name of Alvin J. Zielke may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
